GOAL - To encourage children in pre-school and students in grades K–12 to read books that highlight American history, patriotic values, and freedom. Through age-appropriate books and the help of the community, the program goal is to encourage an understanding of the American heritage while helping to improve reading skills.
OBJECTIVES -Free books donated by GCRWC to promote patriotic books and a lifelong love of reading among children of all ages.
Introduce students to historical events, figures, and values in American history
Encourage children to think about civic responsibility and citizenship
To reach as many children as possible in Garrett County
These books will be provided free of charge to the children of Garrett County and your generous donations, we will purchase age-appropriate, American history-themed books that will entertain and educate young minds. From captivating stories of the Revolutionary War to current events shaping our nation, these books will offer an understanding of American heritage while enhancing a child’s reading skills.
